Biography

Katherine Vélez is an outstanding Colombian actress of cinema, theater, and television. When she turned 23, Katherine decided to jump into acting, making herself popular with her roles as Isabel in the telenovela Hasta que la plata nos separe and as Isabel Cristina in the television series El Capo. This series granted her the Premio India Catalina for Best Protagonist Actress in 2010.

When she was young, Katherine Vélez studied in the Escuela Nacional de Arte Dramático and also did puppet shows for kids. Later on she graduated from languages and soon after joined the theater group Aquelare. There, Katherine discovered that acting is her passion and noticed that teaching and her career in languages was not enough to make her happy. So from then on, Katherine Vélez dedicated her life to acting and throughout her career achieved great success as well as winning numerous awards.
