David Zayas was born in Puerto Rico on August 15th, 1962. He grew up in the Bronx, New York and then joined the American Air Force. Here he gained all the necessary tools to become a New York Policeman that later paved his way to play characters like the criminal Enrique Morales in Oz and detective Angel Batista in the series Dexter.

He is a member of the Labyrinth Theatre Company since 1992 and that’s where he met his wife.
