'Son the Guest' confirmed the cast and director last week with plans to premiere in September. Actors Kim Jae Wook and Kim Dong Wook of Coffee Prince, Jung Eun Chae, and Park Ho San will lead the OCN series, and director Kim Hong Sun of Voice and Black will orchestrate the scenes behind the cameras.

In ‘The Priest’ meets Sketch plot line, an exorcist and a shaman collaborate with the detectives to get rid of the evil in the world. Exorcist priest Choi Yoon (Kim Jae Wook) is an introverted individualist, and shaman Kang Shin Moo (Kim Dong Wook) is a free-spirited wanderlust. They may have drastically different personalities and work under different belief systems, but they get the same thing done. In other words, they identify and get rid of the ghosts in other people.

Detectives Kang Gil Young (Jung Eun Chae) and Go Bong Sang (Park Ho San) make the other pair as they collectively solve cases. Gil Young is a passionate, headstrong detective who reminds us of Park Cha Oh Reum (Go Ah Ra) in Miss Hammurabi. Her partner Gil Young is also her mentor, much like Cha Oh Reum’s boss Han Se Sang (Sung Dong Il) is to her in ‘Miss Hammurabi.’

We’ve had a number of supernatural K-dramas or shows about people who can see ghosts. But ‘Son the Guest’ may be the first supernatural show that combines exorcism and shamanism. Please check back for more details on the ‘Son the Guest’ synopsis, supporting characters, and air date! If you’re looking for a similar show to watch, check out Sketch, in which Rain stars as a detective and Lee Sun Bin as the girl who can outline a future crime scene.
